2012 FCA Camp Summary
Here is some key information about the responses and decisions that young folks made at our FCA camp this past summer:
1. There were a total of 385 kids at camp.
2. Of those kids, 39 indicated that they accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior while at camp.
3. Of the rest, 136 kids indicated that they made some kind of a decision at camp to dedicate themselves to living for the Lord.
In five states (OR, WA, ID, MT, AK) we FCA staff people are doing our best to follow up with these kids and to encourage them to keep on faithfully following Christ. Please join us in praying that we would be able to do so effectively. Thanks much!
Any more questions about why we put so much time and expense into putting on a world-class FCA sports camp every summer? :-)
Field of Faith
The Field of Faith outreach event that we held in October on the Ridgeview High School football field went real well. There was a good crowd of young people there. Eight area high school students shared something of what the Lord is teaching them from His Word and how He is changing their lives. Several of the testimonies were very powerful and involved a pregnancy and death and hardship and the Lord being totally faithful to show His love and grace in the midst of it all. Pastor John Lodwick shared the gospel very clearly and gave the opportunity for young people to accept Christ into their lives had they come to the event as non-Christians. At the end of the evening 61 copies of the Gospel of John were handed out, indicating that that many young people accepted the challenge to read a chapter of the Word of God every day for the next 21 days and to see what the Lord will do in their lives though doing so. Perhaps the best part of the evening for me personally was seeing students boldly speaking about Christ and His Word to their peers. That alone was worth the price of admission (free, of course) to an outdoor outreach event on a chilly October evening. Thanks for praying for the Lord to do great things through the Field of Faith! Our prayers were answered!
Central Oregon Tour des Chutes in July
A group of us rode as a part of an FCA Team in the bicycle event Tour des Chutes on July 14th. We did this to help give additional exposure to the ministry of FCA here in Central Oregon. A secondary reason was to raise some funds for FCA ministry in the schools in the fall. Six of us rode a total of 300 miles that day. It was a great ride and there were opportunities to talk to some other riders about what FCA is all about. We ate well at the BBQ at the end of the ride and in total about $2500 was raised for fall FCA ministry. Warm thanks to all who rode and to all who pledged some dollars to FCA for the miles that we rode!
