Get In Touch

Hello FCA Partners!

Our new ministry year is starting September 1 and coincides with the start of the new school year.  We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the upcoming FCA plans for this year, after finishing the last year with a very productive summer!

As the year starts, we are now starting up the huddles in the middle and high schools...they are student led with adult advisers and give students a great environment to be encouraged and be in the Word during the school week.  These huddles occur mostly during lunch time at the schools...we have several area churches that are now "adopting" a huddle for this year and will be praying for them, engaging with them and providing treats, pizza etc for these huddles...this is just to cool! While we are are in almost all the schools in our area, if you are aware of a school that could benefit from a further FCA presence, please let know!

We are planning to increase our huddle presence in club and community sports this year..so many opportunities with the increasing participation in club sports..... we have made plans to start a coaches breakfast/huddle this fall....and will be starting a rodeo athlete huddle, and starting an all age outdoorsmen huddle...this is all very exciting and a lot of doors are being opened to reach more and more of our community for Christ!

As we mentioned in a previous update, the NNU Camp was tremendous this year with a record number of campers from Central Oregon attending and many making commitments to follow Christ.  We have a date of June 26th,2017 for the camp this next June again at NNU.  We would encourage early prayers for the students and coaches going to this camp and if you have any interest in providing camp scholarships please let us know...Camp is so impacting to all of the student-athletes, their families, and the coaches that  attend.

We also will be offering young student-athlete leaders the opportunity to attend an FCA Leadership camp.  These camps are so valuable in continuing the growth of our young leaders and help them to be impacting and rock solid in dealing with their peers.

This fall we are planning our Fields of Faith event (October 12th)and will further update you on details as they come together.

We are so excited with the opportunities God is giving us here in Central and Eastern Oregon.  We have  wonderful part time staff, a tremendous group of volunteers and a new and growing Board.

We appreciate so much all you do for FCA....we are always available to to meet with you and give you further details and insight into our ministry plans for the year and how important you are as a partner with us as we continue to reach our community for Christ!

We are looking forward to connecting with you soon!

Daily Bible Verse

Growing up, I didn’t have a father. God clearly spoke to me and told me I have a father up in heaven that loves me.

I also learned how to play the sport I love for God.

Be sure to check out over 30 high school and middle school FCA groups established in Central Oregon.  Several hundred young people attend these groups every week hearing about the gospel, love and wisdom of Christ and being encouraged to put Him on the throne of their lives.

2015 Field of Faith

It was an absolutely beautiful evening at Mt View High School and we had a great time. Bill and Abbey Buckingham lead some great worship (full band!) while Grady Pennell did a great job with MC duties...Grant Miller (student-athlete) gave his testimony....followed by a great and very honest talk by NFL quarterback Jake Locker. The evening ended with worship and prayer by Grady... (then Jake hit the field and passed the ball abit with the kids). It was a great evening...there was a lot going on in Deschutes County Thursday nite, so we wish more students could have attended, but Christ was glorified at the event!!

2015 NNU Sports Camp

We took 49 athletes to this years sports camp at NNU.  The athletes grew spiritually and gained great skills in their sport.  With out your support we could not send these athletes to this camp.  I would like to thank you all for the support you show for all these athletes.

Here are some camp quotes from some of our local athletes that attended the NNU sports camp.

Completely re-dedicated everything in my life for God (Brennan, Redmond)

This camp has really helped my faith and helped me to know how to make my relationship with God stronger. (Treyson, Redmond)

I re-committed my life to Jesus and learned about faith, trust, love and humility. I learned to be a team player and a better volleyball setter. ( Alexandra, Redmond)

Spiritually I learned more about God in a way that I can not describe. ( Luke, Redmond

I improved in my sport and I was able to lay some burdens down and connect with Jesus. ( Rylee, Sisters)
